As an incoming resident of one of our primary 6-month programs, here is what you can expect your initial days to look like, and how to prepare for your journey to your new beginning!

Daily Schedule
Depending on any counseling, case management, or medical appointments that you may have, a standard daily schedule will usually look similar to this:

For Residents During Program
We are not a medical facility and do not have a physician to provide medically supervised detoxification, medical care, or administration of certain medications. Approved medications include:
Pain Reliever- Tylenol, Naproxen, Motrin, Ibuprofen, Aleve
Stomach Medication- Prilosec OTC, Nexium, Prevacid, Tums, Rolaids, Pepto Bismol
Cold, Cough, or Sinus Medication- Claritin, Chlortabs, Tylenol Cold and Sinus (all non-drowsy), Alka Seltzer Plus Cold Daytime, Mucinex, Alcohol Free Cough Syrup, Tussin CF, Cough Drops
Prohibited Medications include:
Antidepressants, Antihistamines or decongestants (medicines ending with D or DM), Barbiturates, Narcotics, Opiate Blockers, Sleep-aids, Mood altering or psychotropic, Any other potentially addictive medications.
All medications must be pre-approved prior to check in intake appointment and turned in upon arrival to campus housing. No exceptions.
Phone usage is a privilege and can be taken away as a disciplinary consequence. Program residents do not have phone privileges for the first thirty (30) days. After the first thirty (30) days, residents will be allotted a twenty (20) minute time slot for phone privileges once per week on the weekend. Residents are unable to receive phone calls, faxes, or emails, though they are encouraged to send and receive letters. Residents are not allowed to have cell phones under any circumstances. If they are brought, they will be locked in the ministry's safe until program completion or exit.
Visitation is scheduled with staff approval. Visitation for each resident will take place on a designated Sunday, once per month, from 9:30am to 2:00pm. You will attend our church service with your loved one in our program and follow with lunch on the campus grounds.
Identifications documents such as Picture ID, Driver's License, and/or Social Security Card should be brought with resident to the facility upon intake appointment. Other personal items that are to be brought with resident include ibuprofen or tylenol, shampoo, soap, toothpaste, hairspray must be non-aerosol, an alarm clock (without radio functionality), stamps, envelopes, pens, notebooks, standard wristwatch (not smart watch), cartridge razors.
Due to limited space, the overall amount of additional items brought in should be minimal. Items are subject to be searched upon intake, and at any point throughout the program, if appropriate. On-campus vending machines are available for residents to purchase drinks during the program. Residents may have credit cards, debit cards, prepaid cards, and cash for use to purchase their personal items and cigarettes. Resident is solely responsible for their cards and cash.

No rolling papers or smokeless/loose tobacco in any form other than pouches
No loose powder of any kind
No energy drinks, diet aids, or powdered drink mixes
No loose powder of any kind
No tampons - residents must wear pads due to the septic system
No personal vehicles
No pets
No standard playing cards
No hot plates, toasters, crock pots, cookers, or candles, etc
No open boxes of stationary
No unsealed food, drinks, or medications
Jacobs Well strives to protect all clients from negative influences. Therefore, staff reserves the right to make discretionary decisions concerning peculiar clothing, hair styles or color, etc.
It is imperative that prohibited items are not brought on campus as they are harmful to the individual who brings them as well as to others in the program. Violators are subject to immediate dismissal.
Clients are allowed to receive food or drink items through the mail. For the first thirty (30) days that a resident is in the program packages must be dropped off at the administration building only. No exceptions. After the first thirty (30) days, all packages must be mailed to the resident at campus address.
All incoming and outgoing mail and packages will be monitored.
